Halo Data Hive just rolled out a major update to their Pick’Em Prediction Leaderboard scoring system.
For HCS DreamHack Dallas, users were able to choose the winners of each pool, along with how many games and series each team would win. After making those picks, users then selected the winners throughout the championship bracket—predicting not just the teams, but also the number of games it would take for each win.
The issue? The leaderboard was based on percentages, which made it impossible to determine an outright winner in the event of a tie—something that happened more than once.
Today they announced a big update and here’s what they had to say about it.
